Birdside Collection

Play as Ibis, the organiser of 'Birdside Collection Day,' a day where everyone in the neighbourhood puts out unwanted belongings such as green waste, recycling, trash, or just some snags to share with your friends. Ibis (the player) then goes around to retrieve what they put out, and drop off what each neighbour is looking for.

This was made for Ubisoft Australia Game Jam 2024 and was completed solely by myself. The theme was 'Trash' and I wanted to explore alternative options to the current curbside collection process we have in Australia and wondered if instead of just taking the rubbish, it could be repurposed for others to use as there are plenty of people who scour the streets during curbside collection to save / reuse what's been put out.

This is my first game jam and I was able to finish it in approximately one week of full-time work. I'm graduating from SAE at the beginning of May with an Associate's Degree in Game Development majoring in Programming, and wanted to flesh out my portfolio before I leave, and this was a great experience / addition to my collection.  

Controls: 

WASD - Drives your truck

Arrow Keys - Controls your crane

Spacebar - Pickup and place trash

Left Shift -  Beep your horn to let your neighbours know you're there to pickup and finished dropping off their things
